Day 8 of Finding Your Flow meditation now turns from awareness to activation. This week, we are activating our various chakras to gain a deeper sense of connection to the flow of Universal consciousness.
Chakras are the energetic centers in our bodies. There are 7 chakras, resting along the spine and are they control the flow of the spiritual energy to and through us. Chakras are another part of our anatomy like our muscular structure or our nervous system. So being able to intentionally activate them gives you much more control in all kinds of situations.
Medical intuitive Carolyn Myss has done a lot of research on, and work with, the chakra system. She finds that most diseases form near the chakra center where we are blocked. You can read more in her amazing book, Anatomy of the Spirit: The seven stages of power and healing.
Today, the focus is on the First chakra which sits at the base of spine. Known as the “root” chakra, it controls our connection to feeling safe and grounded and resonates with the color of deep red.
For us souls@work, having the ability to tune in to, and turn on, our energetic centers can give us a great amount of control and peace, especially through the challenging aspects of our workplaces.
The root chakra especially, since we can often feel “threatened” at work simply because someone has the ability to take away our livelihood by firing us.
This often happens during performance reviews or discussions with someone in power, like your boss. To counterbalance that, we want to be able to reground ourself in the flow of universal energy and consciousness. Like how a plant or tree drives its tap root deep in the earth to be anchored against the wind and weather that can batter it around.
Throughout the day, reconnect to your first chakra and reanchor yourself in the Divine safety and protection. Also, notice what affects that connection and activates fear or nervousness. For me, it happens if I cannot tell how my boss is perceiving me. And if someone is upset or critics me, I can get taken over with fear if I am not careful.
So learning to manage this aspect of your energy is the first step to reaching higher and higher levels of consciousness. You cannot climb a ladder that is not secure so the first chakra is very important in setting you up for success.
What helps you get connected to your first chakra and your sense of safety and security? Share your stories so we all have more to choose from.
For me, it’s remembering that I am a spiritual being having a human experience. If I take a few minutes to step outside, I can reconnect with nature, or take a few minutes to pray and reground into the reality that I am a child of God, surrounded by love and that my life is unfolding for my highest and best good.
Namaste.
