Day 16 of Finding Your Flow meditation is about radiating happiness, which elevates the happiness of those around you. And we could all use a little more happiness, right?
I think we all know someone who brings positive energy to every situation, and we feel more enlivened because of them. This is because we are wired to mirror the emotions of those around us (through something called mirror neurons). We naturally tend to gravitate toward the positive person in the room.
As Deepak Chopra says, “Happiness goes viral.”
And it can start with you. You can be that person who makes others feel better—which is just what today’s workplaces need.
So many of us souls shield up and shut down at work, which has caused our workplaces to lose a sense of humanity. But all it takes is one person to start radiating happiness, and then the next person does, and then another. Pretty soon, you have shifted the tone of the day.
String enough days together and you can actually change the culture of your workplace. I have seen it happen.
This is because we all hunger for happiness. Our souls are innately joyful, and we are drawn to more joy. So if you show up exuding a spirit of generosity, you are bound to create something pretty fantastic.
Give it a try. Make a point of tapping in to your own sense of happiness (remember our 2nd chakra and the ability to connect with the Divine flow of energy). And then keep that happiness flowing as you head into a staff meeting, or connect with a colleague.
In your heart and mind, keep sending out happiness and see what happens. For me, I start to see people open up a little, and even start to relax and laugh. The shields lower a little bit and that vulnerability creates true connection and authenticity.
That is the proof that you have shifted the energy of others. And that very act will bring you more joy. Happiness begets more happiness. Creating an awesome cycle of goodness if you let it keep flowing and building.
Don’t underestimate your power to make happiness go viral. After all, that is what we are really here to do.
Namaste.
