“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” ~ Margaret Mead
Change only happens when someone is willing to say “stop!” Around the world, brave souls are speaking out to end hate, injustice and abuse. Whether is it against an oppressive regime or to stop a single abusive adult who is violating the trust of children, the effect is equally profound. Martin Luther King once said, “History will have to record that the greatest tragedy…was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people.” Silence is collusion — where do you need to contribute your voice to effect change? Before this day ends, make your voice heard on an issue that matters to you. Send an email, sign a petition, donate to a cause, or tell a friend that you believe them.
Today’s post is in honor of my dearest friend, Monica Lenches, who bravely spoke out against the harm our society allows to happen to children.
