“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” ~ Aristotle
I think that we all have had the experience of something that makes us come alive. Whether it is nature, or music, or connecting with another person, or doing something that helps others, we have all had the delicious feeling of joy rising up inside us.
It may have come from something small and fleeting or it might be part of our daily experience. It doesn’t really matter how significant the source seems, what matters is that you tune in to that delicious feeling because it is guiding you to your highest self. If it makes you come alive, that’s all you need to know.
Once you realize what makes you come alive, commit to having it in your life. Find a way to come alive at least once a day — that is the best way to contribute to others because in pursuing your own joy, you will give permission to others for them to come alive too.
