“Storms make trees take root.” ~ Proverb
I know this has been true for me — times of stress always help me deepen my sense of self, giving me new tools and insights. Stressful events affect humans in the same way they affect trees — forcing us to dig deeper to anchor ourselves in something stronger. Did you know that an oak tree’s canopy is mirrored by the size of its root system? In reality, the roots develop first, allowing the canopy to push itself higher and wider than previously possible. Pretty cool, huh?
When I look back on my life, I can see that all the storms have been my biggest blessings — ones that portended an incredible surge of wonderful things. Ironically, I have gone kicking and screaming into every single one.
My lesson now is to welcome the storm — to relax into it, allow the deepening process to unfold and to trust that it’s preparing me for good things that I can’t yet imagine. Consider the storms that are brewing in your life — and see if you can find the peace of knowing that they precede the rainbow.
It is in reality a great and helpful piece of information. I am glad that you just shared this useful info with us. Please keep us up to date like this. Thank you for sharing.
