This engaging and interactive workshop will help you create complete health and healing. Give yourself the gift of a day focused entirely on you and your ultimate wellbeing. It will pay off for years to come!
I honestly believe that our bodies have an amazing ability to heal themselves — science has proven this over and over again. But sometimes, we are either not listening to what our bodies are telling us, or we are actually getting in the way and unintentionally thwarting our own healing.
I have had several personal experiences with this issue and witnessed it in my many clients. That is why I want to spend the day with you and help you listen so that you can achieve health and wholeness, whether it is for a physical or emotional issue.
One of my favorite examples of listening to our bodies comes from a woman I read about who had a compelling and disturbing dream. She was in perfect health but she had this dream that this stranger was trying to warn her that something was wrong. This stranger could not talk but the message was clear — something bad was going to happen. She awoke and was shaken by the dream, in that way where you feel the dream for hours.
This dream kept happening, and the stranger became more agitated and insistent until she finally decided to see her doctor. He did a physical but could not see any problems and sent her home.
But the dream happened again, getting more frequent and more insistent. She tried, in the dream, to get the stranger to talk to her but to no avail. And as the dream progressed, more strangers joined the first, all looking insistent but not able to speak. So she went back to her doctor who was willing to do some more tests. After a couple of weeks, he told her that the results did not show anything was wrong.
This obviously left her very perplexed but she was hoping the dreams would stop. But they started up again, with more and more strangers gathering in her dream. Finally, in her dream, she begged and begged the crowd and said to them, “I am listening. Please tell me what I need to know.” The first stranger said, “Go deeper.”
She set up another appointment with her doctor who, when she told him why she was back, suggested that she might want to see the therapist. But she said to him, “Look, you may not believe that something significant is happening here but I do. I will pay for this out of my own pocket if I have to but we have to keep looking. Tell me, what is the deepest part of the body?”
He thought for a moment and said, probably the bowel, and she said, “Great — sign me up for a colonoscopy immediately.” Her doctor was so curious that he did, even insisting on being in the procedure room while it was being performed by the specialist.
She was still awake on the table when she heard him say, “Oh my God!” They had found a cancerous looking tumor deep in her colon and he told her that they would be putting her under immediately to remove it.
When she awoke later in the hospital, her doctor explained that the biopsy showed that the tumor was extremely aggressive and that it was almost certain that it would have been terminal by the time it showed up on regular tests or her health.
How is that for mind blowing? What I love about this story is her body’s persistence in getting her to listen and more importantly, her own persistence in trying to follow its message. She was even willing to stand up to the medical establishment to honor her own truth. Powerful stuff!
Obviously, her example is an extreme one but I do believe that your body has the same ability to communicate with you — whether it’s about a threatening illness or what kind of diet works best for your metabolism or how to heal your broken heart and find happiness again.
The question is, are you listening? If you take some quiet time to reflect, I am confident that you will find that your body has some wisdom about how to help you heal — all you need to do is tune in and honor what it is telling you. My workshop will be a day where I will support you in this process.
