Intention is a powerful thing! When you put a thought into motion, you can actually harness the power of quantum physics to bring that idea into reality. There is all kinds of cool info on how and why this works (read more) and even though I know this stuff, it still never ceases to surprise and delight me.
Over time, I have learned how to be more intentional about my intentions (har har) and often create formal objectives for specific things I want to manifest. But even when I don’t, cool stuff happens. Just yesterday, I had lunch with a good friend (Sara Caputo, productivity Goddess!) and I was saying how much I missed doing speaking gigs (I had taken a little break while my daughter was young). Well, this morning there was an email from a former student inviting me to present at a conference. BAM! Talk about quick manifestation — I didn’t even have to wait 24 hours!
It reminded me how powerful our thoughts and words are. Obviously, this idea didn’t just come to me at lunch — I had been feeling that way for awhile but yesterday was when I formally acknowledged it as a desire and even made a conscious shift to start pursuing speaking opportunities again. That was all it took — a shift in me allowed the universe to shift too. Normally, my process would be to create a formal objective and support it with daily affirmations (read more) and I still will. But I appreciated this little wink from the universe.
So be mindful of what you think about, worry about, and dream about — all of those thoughts are “reality in motion.” Where you put your attention and energy will be presented back to you in some form. That’s why it is so important to focus on where you want your life to go — what it is that you really want. Take a few moments now to dream about the life you want to have. And know that in doing so, it is already on its way!
This is great, Britt! Perfect after a long week and good news for my soul.
I have a friend who calls this “setting out your beacon.” I always image a giant lighthouse lighting up a clear path for my intentions. It has been a while since I did this, thanks for the reminder.
