Day 13 of Finding Your Flow meditation moves us to the sixth chakra, known as our third eye. Sitting on the center of our forehead, this energy center is about our connection to the Divine wisdom. It’s our ability to “see” the unseen or tap into a knowing that is deeper than what our logical brain can know. Many experience this as intuition.
The color of this chakra is deep purple and its essence is our soul, the wise Divine being that lives inside this human suit we wear and will live on long after the body stops working.
We experience this Divine wisdom through our emotions–when we are on path, we feel grounded, at peace and even excited. When we are not listening to our wisdom, we often experience frustration, confusion, and even depression and anxiety. When we ignore those emotions/inner wisdom for a long time, we start to experience physical illness in the form of sickness and dis-ease.
The great news is that your Divine wisdom is always available to you. It’s like having your own private call center that is open 24/7. You just have to stop and listen to the message that it’s already sending you.
I know this to be true, and yet when I go to work, I often focus on my human parts—getting my human body showered, fed and dressed in the right outfit that fits the culture of my workplace. But I don’t get my spiritual parts ready in the same way. In fact, I kind of tuck them away when I leave the house and don’t think of them again.
That is why I do these meditation series in the mornings. To give me something to hold on to during the day that brings me back to my true essence–a spiritual being with a day job.
How we can activate the sixth chakra at work is to first tune into it outside of work. As we strengthen the flow in all the chakras, we can dial them up and down as we need through intentional focus.
And for us souls@work, we can give ourselves time to tune in before we make major decisions or take drastic actions. Now, I’m not talking about hopping up on the desk during a staff meeting and popping into meditation (although if you can, go for it!). But rather making a point to meditate on it, even if that means going for a quick walk or taking the night. This is not to “think” on it but to “feel” on it.
Allow your intuition/Divine wisdom to bubble up through the noise of “shoulds” “oughttas” and “supposed tos.” And start building trust with this part of yourself. I know that it has never steered me wrong, ever. I only get in trouble when I ignore it especially when I go against a strong feeling.
God gave us this amazing navigation system but it only works if we pay attention to it. What is yours telling you?
Namaste.
